We train the people who keep North America connected
CUTI — the Canadian Utilities Technologies Infrastructure Centre — trains people for the infrastructure that runs beneath every street: gas, water, telecom, and electricity. Our mission: close the training gap in the North American workforce.
it all runs underneath ↓
Fast-track, hands-on, employment-first
CUTI's courses and recommended practicum programs give fast-track, hands-on experience. Experienced instructors lead in-class and field training in high-value technical skills.
We train for every lifecycle phase of infrastructure: design, planning, engineering, construction, installation, maintenance, and business administration. We work with large construction firms, engineering firms, utilities, and municipalities across the US and Canada, and we are developing partnerships with educational institutions to bring our programs to new audiences.
What drives CUTI
-
Workforce integration
Our primary goal: help people upgrade their skills and re-enter the workforce.
-
Secured job placements
Sponsored CUTI programs give graduates secured work placements.
-
Multilingual training
Our programs have been offered in other languages, and we have the capacity to do so.
-
Equitable access
We lower the barrier of entry. No prior experience required for most programs, with hardship accommodations where possible.
Why infrastructure is a career-proof bet
Guaranteed investment
US federal programs like BEAD commit $42.45 billion to broadband builds, with ARPA and state programs adding more. Canada invests billions alongside — and the trained workforce to deliver it does not exist yet.
Essential industry
Work-from-home policies drove a surge in utility installation and maintenance. The industry was one of the strongest survivors of the pandemic.
Infrastructure for all
As cities and populations grow, so does infrastructure. Even without growth, maintenance work alone secures jobs well into the future.
What CUTI is
A training centre, strictly. We train people entering a new career through in-class and in-field programs. Experienced, vetted instructors lead every program.
What CUTI isn't
An employer. CUTI does not hire anyone. We work with vetted companies who sponsor trainees and offer full-time job placements.
